FAQs

What is Plum?

Plum is a new way to communicate and stay connected with family, friends and co-workers. It's a free service that lets you save and share anything-photos, web pages, notes and more-in private and shared web folders.

Plum.com lets you:

  • Save and share anything
  • View recent activity from you and your friends
  • Collaborate in shared web folders
  • Discuss any saved item
  • Notify via Twitter when you save items

Plum’s iPhone App lets you:

  • Save photos, notes, and links to any of your web folders on Plum.com
  • View and comment on any item in a feed of recent activity by your friends
  • Invite friends to join Plum

How do I save things?

Using Plum’s browser tools, you can save any web page to Plum, and we'll store a link to it and a snapshot (also called a "cached copy"), so that even if the original site disappears, you’ll be able to view the saved page.

From Plum.com, you can write notes and upload videos, photos, PDFs, and Microsoft Word documents from your computer so that you can share and access them from anywhere.

How do I share things?

You can share public items and folders with anyone who has an email address. Your private items and folders may only be viewed by you and people you invited contributors. Folder contributors must to be members of Plum.

What’s the difference between a folder’s creator and its contributors?

A folder’s creator has complete control over the folder; she can delete any item, and can add and remove contributors. A contributor can only save and delete items.

Why do people use shared folders?

Shared folders keep groups in sync. Plan your next dinner party, research sites for your next vacation, and share pictures from your family reunion—with everyone who wants to contribute.

What’s Twitter?

Twitter is a website that lets people post short messages about what they’re doing. If you have a Twitter account, we can automatically post a message to Twitter when you save a public item.
